We have been so amazed at all of the technology companies that have stepped up and offered their warm support to our work in Haiti. NewTek, Inc. was one of the first responders, contributing several copies of their incredible Lightwave 3D software for our technology training lab. In addition to this significant contribution, they went above and beyond and included a TriCaster Pro as part of their gift.
These incredible additions to our school will make it possible for our students to add a level of depth and experience that was previously not possible in Haiti. With Lightwave 3D, our students will begin to learn how to model and animate 3D graphics. Graphics like these will not only add depth to the marketplace in Haiti, they will deepen our ability to create quality, Kreyòl-language, educational videos via The Learning Village.
With the TriCaster Pro, multi-camera productions are made possible for the first time in a compact, robust, turnkey device. In addition to the variety of tools that the TriCaster Pro offers (tools like real-time switching, titling, green screen matting, and virtual sets), productions can be recorded or streamed live over the web. This means that future broadcasts are now possible, broadcasts that empower our students to report news from Haiti to the rest of the world in an unprecedented way.
We are deeply grateful to NewTek, Inc. for their proud support of the Haitian people and The Caribbean Institute of Media Technologies. With their help, we are taking technology to a new level in Haiti!
